FURDER PM Gearless Traction Motor is rooted in its permanent magnet synchronous design. This stands in contrast to induction motors that require energy to generate an electromagnetic field, thereby reducing electrical losses from the start. The motor operates in a direct-drive, gearless format, meaning it applies torque directly to the traction sheave without the need for a speed-reducing gearbox.
